Kris Williams is a writer / director of short films, and composer of music for film / TV / media.
As a writer-director Kris is drawn to stories that explore the fragile boundary between reality and perception. His work blends psychological drama, horror, and fantasy to examine characters caught between the worlds they inhabit and the worlds they create to survive.
Across his projects, Williams is fascinated by the hidden forces that shape human behaviour: fear, obsession, guilt, longing, identity, and the stories people tell themselves to make sense of their lives. His protagonists are often ordinary individuals facing extraordinary internal crises, navigating moral ambiguity while searching for meaning, connection, or redemption.
At the heart of Williams' work is a fascination with transformation. Whether through love, trauma, obsession, or revelation, his stories follow characters whose understanding of themselves is irrevocably altered. The result is cinema that is unsettling, compassionate, and psychologically rich, inviting audiences to question not only what they are seeing, but why they believe it.
His music for screen incorporates atmospheric sound design and textural synthesis, with cello, piano and other instruments.
As a music producer across genres including Dub, Techno, Ambient & House, his music has featured on channels including the BBC, Netflix, Canal Plus, ITV, Channel 5, National Geographic and shows such as MasterChef, Coronation Street, Shoplifters & Scammers & Nature's Weirdest Events.
With releases on vinyl and digital, Kris has played Ableton live sets in clubs in the UK and Spain, and Mary Anne Hobbs twice played tracks on her BBC Radio 1 show.
His short film 'Little', won awards in international film festivals including Hollywood Verge, San Francisco and Portland, and showed in festivals worldwide, including BIFA-qualifying Brighton Rocks Film Festival.
His latest comedy short film 'Third Wheel, shot at MyWorld Virtual Production Studio, Bristol, will be out 2026.
